Aarogya Ghat:
A Family-Centered Approach to Financial Empowerment
Aarogya Ghat was established in 2019 with the goal of providing comprehensive healthcare and financial support to the families of sex workers. Since its inception, the organization has successfully formed 147 groups of 10 women each, creating a strong network of support and mutual assistance.

A key feature of Aarogya Ghat is its innovative financial model. Each group member contributes 200 rupees per month to a communal fund. This pooled money serves as an emergency fund, available to any group member in need of financial assistance. Whether it's for school fees, medical expenses, or other unforeseen costs, the fund provides a much-needed safety net. In addition to financial support, Aarogya Ghat organizes four health camps every year using the funds collected from the groups.

To promote financial independence, Aarogya Ghat conducts classes on financial literacy facilitated by Outreach Workers (ORWs). These classes equip group members with the knowledge and skills to manage their finances effectively and make informed decisions.

One of the distinguishing features of Aarogya Ghat is its family-centered approach. The benefits and support provided by the organization extend not only to the individual sex workers but also to their families. This ensures that the entire household benefits from the program, fostering a healthier and more empowered community.
Crisis Committee:
Advocacy and Community Empowerment
Advocacy is a cornerstone of the Crisis Committee's work. Our community beneficiaries face constant threats from various stakeholders, including rouges, families, partners, clients, and police, as they navigate their personal and professional lives.
The Crisis Committee, comprised of lawyers, police officers, and KMS team members, actively addresses these issues by engaging with concerned department heads.
We build strong relationships with government officials, policymakers, police officials, and other stakeholders to sensitize them to the challenges faced by our community and advocate for necessary interventions.

Whenever a new stakeholder enters our geographical areas of focus, we ensure to advocate and sensitize them as well. This way, we engage in a continuous dialogue, increase visibility, and advocate to ensure that all voices within our community are heard and represented.
